Hemingway's Vintage at London

So Vintage at Goodwood is setting sale for London! From 29th to 31st July this year, Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway, along with the Hemingway Design's creative team present the quintessential vintage fair not in Goodwood Estate but the Southbank Centre! I'm not sure why they moved it, and it's sure to disappoint some who camped at Goodwood, but don't knock it til you've tried it I say, and spanning 21 acres along the Embankment it will play host to music, fashion, art, design, film and even food from your favourite "decade of cool"- namely 1920 to 1980, along with current bands and brands, all coming together to form one Cool Britannia experience.

Last year's Goodwood exceeded expectations, and was heralded as the alternative to the muddy Wellington booted festivals of Glastonbury, Isle of White et al that we are so accustomed to. Instead, revellers are dressed to nines in their favourite decade of fashion, milling about a custom made Vintage High-street. Its occupancy in London this year ties in beautifully with The Southbank's celebration of the 60th anniversary of perhaps the most definitive of festivals- the 1951 Festival of Britain. Already a winner of "Best New Festival" at The UK Festival Awards, Vintage is back with a bang with all the goodness of last year (art, clubs, fashion, dance lessons, makeovers) but with added London gumption- no less than 7 decades, dwarfing the original 5, will feature and when night-time falls the party will be in full swing- a fleet of stylish party boats will cruise along the Thames blaring funk to Rockabilly transforming the London horizon from glum to glam.

Vintage will pay homage to the Best of British, with a line-up of catwalk shows, vintage makeovers and a conglomeration of over 200 of the finest purveyors of vintage clothing, accessories and home-ware. Add to the mix an 80s Warehouse party, Casino, 40s Blitz Club and the transformation of restaurants, bars and surrounding buildings along the Embankment to a "Vintage Wonderland" and you've got yourself a steaming cultural hotbed of Britain through the ages. If you're looking forward and fancy getting your fashion forecasting hat on, head to the Future Vintage section, where you can take a peek at what future Vintage revellers will be coveting in years to come.

The British Film Institute will also be merrymaking- with a 3 day spectacular of classic movies, documentaries and even Public Information films from bygone eras of the 20th century.

Sure to be electrifying, amazing, and all number of adjectives this summer- tickets will be available soon. Find out more on http://www.vintagebyhemingway.co.uk/ or click here where you can become a Vintage Vulture and register for more details as they come.

Superbly excited for this one. Hemingway, we salute you!
